1st Week of My OJT Journey
For the first week of our OJT Program, we had an orientation about the rules and regulations, the staff we would meet, and what we should expect in our OJT program.
On the first day of our OJT, at the 2nd Floor of the University Library, where the cold of the clean office graciously welcomed us in which our supervisor, Jean Altavano, briefly discussed what will be the task our group would do. Our supervisor told us that we should expect an additional work since our course is not aligned with what they previously gave us. After the brief discussion, we were told to follow Ma'am Jean Altavano for us to start our work. At the ground floor, we entered the 1st floor library where we saw a bundle of books staring at us. The dust, smell of an old parchment, and at the same time the cold air entered our nostrils. Our supervisor sternly told us that the book above the table is not meant to be touched and so we did as we told. After that we collectively placed our laptops on the table beside the extension cord the librarian gave us. Here is a picture of us working:
For the 2nd day of the 1st week, I arrived at the workplace at 8:45 a.m., in turn, we would be extending our allotted ours to compensate for the lost time, in which we told our supervisor beforehand that we would be arriving later than usual as it is because of how the traffic consumed the streets early in the morning. Ma'am Jean Altavano happily agreed with what we told her, but she made sure to address the importance of working hours in which it is 8 hrs a day. Here is a picture of us working on the 2nd day of the 1st week:
As time passed by, our hands, shoulders, and back are becoming more and more numb. But the pain disappeared as soon as we saw the university president at our workplace.
For the third day, we repeatedly did our task.
