11th Week of My OJT Journey
Wrapping Up My Internship at the University Library
Day 1-5
For the whole week of April, I've been contemplating a lot especially in Day 1 because of how much I will miss the University Library and their kind staff. Becoming an intern in their establishment is such a blessing in disguise.
That my internship in the university library is coming to an end is difficult to comprehend. I have gained a great deal of knowledge about library science, book preservation, and the inner workings of a library system during the past few weeks.
I am pleased with my progress as I finish my work on the encoding of books that will be discarded. I have encoded hundreds of books in Day 2 to make sure their data is accurately recorded and that they can be discarded correctly.
A highlight of my previous week was getting to work a reference desk shift while being a librarian's assistant in Day 3. It was interesting to observe how librarians help users locate materials, resolve research inquiries, and use the library's resources. I gained a lot of knowledge about the value of providing excellent customer service and how librarians can influence people's lives.
I also got to hear about the library's future ambitions and the difficulties they are now encountering by attending a staff meeting in Day 4. It was intriguing to observe how the library is adjusting to the needs of users and emerging technologies.
I am appreciative of the chance to work with such a lovely group of librarians and staff members as I think back on my internship experience. They were always happy to assist me, offer advice, and impart their knowledge in Day 5. I've learned a lot of useful things that will help me in my future undertakings.
I'll sum up by saying that my internship in the university library was a worthwhile and enjoyable experience. I gained a lot of knowledge about customer service, book preservation, and library science. I am appreciative of the chance and eager to use what I have learnt in my upcoming career.
